Nokia N73 mobile can be used as a USB drive. The process is very simple. I’m giving some simple steps here so that you will not face any problem.

Steps to turn Nokia N73 (any Nokia NSeries or Nokia Symbian-based smartphone) as USB mass storage drive

  • Insert 2GB miniSD memory card into Nokia N73.
  • On Nokia N73, press Menu -> Tools -> Data Cable -> Data Cable Mode -> Ask On Connection -> OK -> Exit -> Back -> Exit -> back to Nokia N73 main screen.
  • Connect Nokia N73 to PC or laptop that is running Windows XP/2000/Vista, via Nokia CA-53 model of USB cable, which is free with purchasing of Nokia N73.
  • On Nokia N73, the Select Mode: list display, choose Mass Storage and press OK.
  • When message “Phone will be in offline mode when mass storage mode is active. Continue?” alerted, press OK to continue.

Offline mode simply means that Nokia N73 will not active on any mobile operator networks, cannot make call or receive call, etc.

  • On PC or laptop, Windows XP will automatically detect and configure the Nokia N73 as a normal USB mass storage device.

Once the Nokia N73 is ready configured as USB mass storage drive by Windows XP, one can start copy files into Nokia N73.
